David Fritz, O.D.
Dr. Fritz is a doctor of optometry with specialized training in ocular disease treatment and pre/post-surgical care. Dr. Fritz received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. He received his doctorate degree at the Illinois College of Optometry, Chicago, Illinois. He completed internships at the Illinois Eye Institute, Chicago, Illinois, in several areas including primary care, pediatrics, ocular disease, glaucoma, developmental disability, sports vision and low vision.
Dr. Fritz's additional ocular disease training included Truman Memorial Veteran's Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, and Olympia Fields Hospital in Olympia Fields, Illinois.
Dr. Fritz provides routine ocular health examinations for glasses and contact lenses as well as diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease including dry eye, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. He also provides pre- and post-operative care to patients including catarct, glaucoma, and refractive surgery patients. He has special interest in dry eye disease, glaucoma and pediatric examinations. Prior to joining Bennett EyeCare Midwest, Dr. Fritz's previous experience includes practicing at McKnight Eye Centers, Hunkeler Eye Centers and Professional Eyecare.
Dr. Fritz enjoys spending free time with his wife Kim, and boys Trevor, Trent and Troy. He is involved with his boys sports activities (basketball, baseball and football) and enjoys boating and water sports and hiking when time permits.
Dr. Fritz is a member of various professional organizations including the American Optometric Association, the Missouri Optometric Association and the Greater Kansas City Optometric Society. He has been a past lecturer at KCSee for Ophthalmic Allied Health personell and Kansas City Society of Ophthalmology and Otolarnygology.
